Privacy Policy

Last updated: 31 July 2026

The short version. Posto runs on your computer and talks directly to your email provider. Your messages do not pass through our servers, because we do not operate servers that handle mail. We cannot read your email.

Who we are

Posto is made by Oddball Media Group LLC, a company registered in New York, United States. If you need to reach us about anything in this policy, write to support@oddballmediagroup.com.

What Posto is, technically

Posto is a desktop application you install on your own Windows computer. When you connect a mailbox, the app authenticates directly with that provider — Microsoft, Google, or your IMAP host — and requests your mail from them. The connection is between your machine and your provider. We are not in the middle of it.

This matters for privacy because it means there is no Posto database holding your correspondence. Web-based shared-inbox tools generally must store copies of your mail on their infrastructure to function. Posto does not work that way.

What stays on your computer

What we receive

Oddball Media Group does not receive your email content, contacts, attachments, or mailbox credentials. We have no technical means of accessing them.

If you contact support and voluntarily send us a screenshot or a log file, we receive whatever you chose to include in it. We use it to help you and we do not use it for anything else.

This website may collect standard, anonymous traffic statistics through our hosting provider. It does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Your email providers

Posto connects to services operated by other companies, and your relationship with those companies is governed by their own terms and privacy policies:

Posto requests the minimum access it needs to read and send your mail, and you can revoke that access at any time from your provider's account security settings.

Licensing and updates

Posto checks for application updates from our public release repository. This request tells us that a copy of Posto checked for an update; it does not identify you or your mailboxes.

If you purchase a licence, payment is processed by a third-party payment provider. We receive the information necessary to issue and support your licence — typically your name, email address and purchase record. We do not receive or store your full card details.

Children

Posto is a business tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them.

Your rights

Because we do not hold your mail, most data-access requests are answered by your email provider rather than by us. For the limited information we do hold — support correspondence and licence records — you may ask us to provide a copy or delete it by writing to support@oddballmediagroup.com. Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA, and we will honour them.

To remove everything Posto has stored locally, uninstall the application and delete its data folder in your Windows user profile.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that materially affects you, we will update the date at the top of this page and note the change in the application's release notes.
